The dedication, generosity and faith of our volunteers make St. Agnes Parish an active and vibrant community through various ministries, service projects, faith formation opportunities, PREP catechists and more.
In order to become a volunteer at St. Agnes Parish, it is important to be in compliance with the policies established by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
“Archdiocesan policy requires all Church personnel including priest, religious, deacon, pastoral minister, employee, school employee, parish employee, and contract employee must obtain clearances as required by Pennsylvania law. This includes any individual 14 years of age or older applying for or working in a paid position as an employee responsible for the welfare of a child or having direct contact with children.
Additionally, all adult volunteers (unpaid) who may have any possible contact with or responsibility for children. Archdiocesan compliance guidelines state that clearances should be submitted prior to the commencement of employment or volunteer service.”
Before you begin your volunteer activity, please carefully consider the guidelines below and obtain any clearances necessary for your service:
Obtaining Clearances
The following clearances must be obtained by volunteers living in PA for less than 10 years:
The following clearances must be obtained by volunteers living in PA continuously for 10 years:
- Pennsylvania State Police Clearance
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- Disclosure Statement Application for Volunteers to be filed at the place of service
Minors, defined as 17 and younger, who are volunteering are not required to obtain any clearances
All required clearances, including FBI, must be renewed every five years.
