Greetings from Atchison, Kansas!

After a busy summer spent working at Wehrungs Hardware Store and preparing for college, I have now started my freshman year at Benedictine College. I am currently pursuing my Biology degree, with plans to become a physician assistant. Between classes, friends, extracurriculars, work, and studying, I’ve been busy so far this semester and am incredibly grateful for my classes, professors, and faith-filled community here at BC.

This spring break I will be going on medical mission with a group of BC students and healthcare professionals to Mexico. We will be partnering with Family Missions Company to serve the people of General Cepeda, which is a small community near Monterrey. I am excited to serve on this trip because not only will it help me improve in my medical skills and knowledge as a PA student, but it will allow me to grow in the selflessness and compassion that Christ calls each of us to exemplify. Just as “Christ did not come to be served, but to serve,” so also do I hope to reach out and express God’s abundant love to the people of General Cepeda.

Some people give by going on mission trips and others go by giving! I am writing you to invite you into the Mexico Medical Mission with my team and I through prayer and financial gift. Our team of 15 needs to raise $32,871 by February. Any and all gifts are greatly appreciated! Below you’ll find three ways you can donate to this mission (you’ll also receive a tax receipt for your gift!). Even if the mission is canceled or relocated due to travel advisories caused by safety or health concerns, your donation will always remain with the mission program and will ultimately help our mission partner communities.
